American Friends of Israel War Disabled Foundation
For more than 30 years a diverse group of Chicago area families, primarily from the North Shore, has hosted a delegation of disabled Israeli veterans for two weeks of rest and relaxation in Chicago. A different group of veterans is chosen each year by the Zahal Disabled Veterans Organization (ZDVO) in Israel. Our group, American Friends of Israel War Disabled Foundation (AFIWDF) brings these veterans into our homes and sponsors two weeks of activities.
In addition to hosting our guests in our homes, we plan and accompany them on the various activities of our two-week program. We also pay all of our guests' expenses during their stay, including their round-trip airfare between Israel and Chicago. Our funding comes exclusively from contributions and the various fundraising activities carried on throughout the year.
We invite you to join us in this important and worthwhile undertaking. In this small way we can thank the men and women of Israel who have given so much in defense of Israel, a land and a people that mean so much to us.
